Bio

Julian Lopez is a keyboardist and composer born and raised in San Francisco. Trained classically at age four, he discovered Blues and Rock & Roll as a teenager, and then expanded his repertoire to include Salsa, Latin Jazz, Neo-soul, and Hip-Hop. He studied jazz piano with George Colligan at Portland State where the combo he was in won second place at the Reno Jazz Competition. His influences range from Robert Glasper and Madlib to Eddie Palmieri, incorporating multiple music styles into his playing and compositions. He plays locally in the Bay Area as a member of Miss Hits and Diwa and performs with ZHENIIA, Isaias Medellin and Pachex.
